April 13, 2018, 4-5pm – first hour of a two hour show featuring, after playing Side 1 of a 1972 album, ‘4 Kingston Poets in a Reading Prepared for the National Art Centre…’ – and featuring then Kingston poets Tom Marshall, Gail Fox, David Helwig, and Stuart MacKinnon, I’ll air the full of Side 2 this week. The reading was held there on July 18, 1972, and the album was recorded and produced by Quarry Recordings here in Kingston. After a ‘not my finest moment’ attempt at trying to break and introduce 4 reading in an album without tracks, this week I will play Side 2 in its entirety, uninterrupted. If you’d like a track listing to follow along, I found one online, and you’ll find it at the end of this post. Following that, I’ll play several tracks off a 1984 recording of William Stafford’s poetry, from an audiobook called ‘Troubleshooting’. And here, the track listing for the 1972 vinyl album – https://www.discogs.com/Tom-Marshall-Stuart-MacKinnon-Gail-Fox-David-Helwig-Four-Kingston-Poets-In-A-Reading-Prepared-For-Th/release/8146357- and Side 2 begins with Track 21 on that list.
